Mattress Manufacturing for a Demanding Retail Program
This was a human mattress project, not a pet-bed collaboration. Its relevance to Lincelli’s pet product business lies in the manufacturing discipline required to produce a large foam-based comfort product for a major retail program.
Lincelli supplied Macy’s directly and supported the project through sampling, material coordination, foam processing, sewing, finished-product manufacturing, packaging, bulk production and shipment.
Managing a Complete Mattress Construction
A retail mattress program involves more than confirming a size. Foam layers, comfort direction, finished dimensions, cover fit, sewing, appearance and packaging must work together and remain aligned with the approved sample.
Lincelli coordinated these areas within one manufacturing project. The sample stage allowed the product construction, feel, dimensions and cover finish to be reviewed before bulk production. Confirmed details were then used to align foam preparation, sewn components, assembly and packing.
The experience is relevant to pet product buyers because many of the same manufacturing questions apply to large pet beds, senior-dog support beds and human-pet products: how foam layers interact, how the product carries weight, how the cover fits, how the product recovers after packing and how the finished unit is delivered.
Material and Compliance Coordination
For mattress and bedding projects, supporting documents must be matched to the selected material, manufacturing entity and target market. Lincelli can provide original records associated with CertiPUR-US®, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, REACH, RoHS, ISO 9001 and BSCI, with applicability confirmed for the specific project.
The Macy’s case demonstrates why compliance discussions need to be connected with material specifications, approved samples and production requirements rather than treated as a row of marketing logos.
The working process linked commercial requirements with production checkpoints. Material and construction details were reviewed during sampling, confirmed changes were reflected in the manufacturing reference, and the finished mattress was prepared according to the agreed packing direction. This helped keep the project requirements visible as the order moved from development into bulk production.
Packaging, Production and Shipment
Large foam products create significant freight and storage considerations. Lincelli coordinated the mattress packaging and shipment preparation as part of the complete manufacturing scope. Experience with large compressed soft goods also informs our approach to packaging human-sized dog beds and other foam pet products.
The project moved from sampling into finished-product bulk manufacturing and shipment. It demonstrates Lincelli’s ability to coordinate materials, foam, sewing, packaging and production for a demanding large-format product.
